On February 12, 2000, Southern Nazarene University unveiled the brand new Claud & Betty Cypert Athletic Complex before a crowd of 300 as the SNU baseball team hosted USAO in an afternoon doubleheader. The Crimson Storm were defeated by the Drovers in the first game on the new field 9-4, but earned the first ever victory in the new complex in the second game of the double dip, knocking off USAO 9-1.
SNU’s Cypert Complex is named after long time SNU supporters Claud & Betty Cypert. The Cypert’s have made many generous donations to the university throughout the years.
The Cypert Complex houses the baseball and softball programs with two adjoining fields. For baseball, the Complex seats 100 in the main bleachers, but the capacity is much more with good viewing available down the lines and in the outfield on the hill for fans to bring lawn chairs. The softball complex seats 50.
The Cypert Complex sits on 40 acres of land just west of the main SNU campus on Northwest 39th Expressway between Rockwell and Council Roads. The baseball field includes two dugouts, a bullpen, storage unit, brand new press box, coach’s offices, home team dressing room, umpire dressing facilities, state-of-the-art scoreboard, home and visitor bleachers, donor seating behind home plate and a concession stand.
Dimensions for the baseball field are 340 feet down the lines and 400 feet to straight away center.
The softball field features two dugouts, a bullpen, storage facility, state-of-the-art scoreboard, and home and away seating.
Softball field dimensions are 202 feet down the lines and 215 feet
to straight away center.
